The beginning of a new year naturally makes us pause and think about where we have been and where we want to go next. We start making plans, setting goals, creating vision boards, and thinking about all the things we want to accomplish in the year ahead. While there is nothing wrong with setting goals and having a vision for your life, I believe there is something even more important we should do before we begin planning everything we want to accomplish. We should make room for God to speak to us about what needs to change within us.
That is the heart behind my newest book, Reset, Renew, Realigning Purpose: A 50 Day Prayer Journey for Women.
This book was created out of a desire to give women a meaningful place to slow down, pray, reflect, and reconnect with God. Life can become overwhelming very quickly, and sometimes we continue moving through our days without realizing how much we are carrying. We can become so focused on taking care of our responsibilities, showing up for everyone around us, pursuing our goals, and trying to keep everything together that we forget to stop and ask ourselves what is happening within our own hearts.
Sometimes we need a reset.
A reset is not about starting over because we have failed. It is about recognizing when something within us needs to be surrendered to God. There are things we carry for too long, including disappointment, fear, pressure, expectations, unforgiveness, exhaustion, and things from our past that we were never meant to continue carrying into our future. The first part of this journey, Reset, creates space to bring those things before God and allow him to begin doing the work that only he can do.
Then comes renewal.
There are seasons when we genuinely love God and still feel tired. There are moments when our faith is strong, but our hearts are weary. Renewal reminds us that God cares about those places too. He is not asking us to pretend that we are never tired, discouraged, or overwhelmed. He invites us to come to him so that he can renew our strength, refresh our spirits, and restore the parts of us that have become worn down.
The third part of the journey is Realigning.
Sometimes we can become so focused on what we want, what we expected, or what we believe our lives should look like that we lose sight of what God is actually asking of us. Realignment allows us to examine our priorities, our decisions, our relationships, our plans, and the direction we are moving in. It is an invitation to surrender our own agenda and trust God enough to let him redirect our steps when necessary.
Finally, we arrive at Purpose.
I believe every woman has purpose, and that purpose does not look the same for everyone. Your purpose may unfold through your family, your career, your ministry, your creativity, your business, your relationships, your community, or something God has placed within you that you have not fully recognized yet. Your journey will not look like anyone else’s, and you do not have to compare your timeline, your accomplishments, or your calling to another woman’s life.
That is one of the reasons I wanted this book to be for women in every season of life. Whether you are married, single, raising children, building a career, starting a business, navigating a major transition, rebuilding after disappointment, waiting on God, or simply desiring to grow closer to him, this journey was created with you in mind.
The 50 days are divided into four intentional sections: Reset, Renew, Realign, and Purpose. Each section allows you to spend intentional time with God through prayer and Scripture, while also giving you space to reflect on what he may be revealing to you throughout the journey. I wanted this book to feel personal and honest rather than like something you simply read and move on from. My hope is that the prayers become conversations between you and God and that the words on these pages meet you differently depending on the season you are currently walking through.

Why I Believe This Is the Perfect Way to Begin a New Year
The beginning of a new year can bring a lot of pressure. We often feel like we need to have everything figured out before the year even begins. We create goals, make plans, establish routines, and convince ourselves that we have to accomplish more than we did the year before. Sometimes we even enter a new year carrying the same emotional and spiritual weight we were carrying in the previous one, simply because we never allowed ourselves to stop and deal with it.
I want this book to offer something different.
Instead of beginning the year by asking yourself what you need to accomplish, I want you to begin by asking God what he wants to do within you. Instead of immediately trying to create the perfect plan for your future, take some time to invite God into the process. Ask him what needs to be released, what needs to be restored, what needs to be realigned, and what he is preparing you to walk into.
A new year does not necessarily require a completely new version of you. Sometimes what we need is a renewed perspective, a surrendered heart, a deeper trust in God, and the courage to follow him differently than we did before.
That is what I hope you find throughout these 50 days.
I hope you find yourself becoming more comfortable bringing your honest thoughts and emotions before God. I hope you begin recognizing the areas where you have been trying to carry things on your own and become more willing to surrender them. I hope your faith is strengthened as you see God working in places you may have overlooked, and I hope you become more confident in trusting his direction even when you cannot see the entire path ahead.
Most importantly, I hope you finish this journey understanding that God is not finished with you.
Whatever season you are currently in, there is still room for God to work. There is still room for growth, restoration, renewal, obedience, and purpose. You do not have to have every answer before you begin, and you do not have to know exactly what the next season will look like. You can simply begin by making room for God and trusting him enough to take the next step.
Reset, Renew, Realigning Purpose: A 50 Day Prayer Journey for Women is my invitation for you to begin the new year differently. Instead of allowing pressure, comparison, or expectations to determine how you enter the year, I want you to begin with prayer and allow God to be at the center of your process.
My prayer is that these 50 days become more than something you complete. I pray they become a meaningful time between you and God, a season where you allow him to search your heart, renew your strength, realign your steps, and remind you of the purpose he has placed within you.
If you are ready to begin the new year by making room for God to work from the inside out, I would love for you to take this journey with me.
